Peer Presentations
Design is a method of communication. To that end we will practice concepts of visual design, organization, and presentation of information to an audience with peer presentations of assigned readings. The goal of these presentations will be summarize reading content in a relatable way and to engage the audience with thought provoking questions or ideas related to the content. Both audience members and presenters have a responsibilities during these activities. Taking these repsonsibilities seriously will be key to interesting and engaging class disucssion.
Presenter(s) Responsibilities
All presenters are required to:
- Read the assigned content
- Create a 25 minute presentation about the assigned content
- Pose discussion questions about the material with regards to questions you have as presentor(s) from the reading or insights from the audience about how they interpret the content or opinions on hypothetical or concrete designs or design decisions.
Meet with the professor prior to the presentation for feedback (see the deadlines for the meeting on the presentation schedules).This requirement may be suspended as we progress into the semester if the quality of the presentations remains high.- The meeting requirement is no longer necessary
Audience Responsibilities
All audience members are required to:
- Read the assigned content
- Submit the discussion form with four discussion questions or comments about the reading by 11:59pm the day prior to the presentation.
- ARRIVE ON TIME
- Complete the Peer Evaluation Form for the presentation submitted by the end of the day
- Peer Evaluation Forms may be and shared with the presenter
- Do NOT treat the evaluation like an internet comment section. Critiques are professional comments that provide helpful insight to improve work and are respectful
- Peer Evaluation Forms may be and shared with the presenter
- Engage in the discussion
