Exam Rules
While it is assumed that honest participation in exams is the intended goal for everyone, I would like to explicitly outline some rules so everyone is on the same page.
Usable Resources
During the exam, you may only have the following items on your desk:
- One laptop (and charger if needed)
- A writing utensil
- Scratch paper for problem solving provided by professor
- A list of helpful information provided by the professor
All other items must be out of sight/in your bag and under your desk.
Moodle Exam Portion
During the Moodle portion of the exam, you must:
- Have Moodle open in your webbrowser full screen with NO ADDITIONAL TABS
- Notifications muted/silenced or do not disturb/focus mode enabled
- Only have your webbrowser open and NO OTHER APPLICATIONS. No app switching.
Coding Exam Portion
During the coding portion of the exam, you must:
- Have VSCode open full screen.
- ONLY have the exam code directory open NO OTHER DIRECTORIES OR FILES VISIBLE
- Notifications muted/silenced or do not disturb/focus mode enabled
- Only have VSCode open and NO OTHER APPLICATIONS. No app switching.
Leaving During the Exam
If you need to leave the exam to use the restroom, you must leave your phone on your desk face down.
Voliation of the Rules
Violation of these rules or other standard exam taking rules/practices (e.g. talking, looking at other student’s work, etc.) will result in being asked to submit the exam as-is and receiving a failing grade.
