Exercise 10: Final Project Proposal
It’s time to get with your team members and come up with an idea for your final project. While the project is open ended, it should be an application that has a visual presentation. Some example project ideas could be:
- A simple game
- An interactive data visualization
- An interesting image editing/manipulation algorithm/program
- A learning application for children (or anyone)
- An interactive story with decisions (like a choose your own adventure)
- An animated story
There are other options as well and subcategories of ides from those listed above. Remember to keep the scope of your project managable given the time remaining in the semester. If you aren’t sure about your idea, feel free to forward me your proposal early for feedback.
Final projects will be due on presentation days:
- Section 1 - Wednesday 12/06 @ 8:00am
- Section 2 - Thursday 12/07 @ 8:00am
This assignment will be worked on in your groups.
Proposal Requirements
All proposals must be:
- No less than 250 words explaining the project, features you will implement to make it work, and how you plan to divide that work among your group. Focus on what is needed to create a minimum viable product. Those should be your core features and anything else you have time for is a “nice to have”.
- Include a rough timeline for progress on the project and at least one day/time you all agree to meet. The timeline should be considered in “weeks” (e.g. week 1 - find image/sprite resources, week 2 - space ship movement and firing, etc.)
You many not simply re-implement an example from class. If you wish to extend something we have done in class, you must make it very obvious what you contribution will be to the application and how you will make it “your own”.
